The Barn

200 years of Maryland history

Our farm includes a breathtaking historic hay barn that was built in the 1820s and is in remarkably good condition for it’s age. One can’t help but imagine the generations of life lived under the cathedral-esque wooden shingled roof. A peaceful hush fills your ears within the chestnut and oak timber frame. If you’re lucky, Mango the barn cat just might insist on a quick snuggle while you breathe in the stillness.

Bringing it back to life

The barn still needs some work before we can bring our dreams to fruition. We have grand daydreams of hosting farm dinners, food preparation classes, square dances, funky puppet shows, and live music performances there someday. We currently use the barn for storage and as our farm kitchen and relaxation area. We welcome ideas for future events.
